Now that I know there are people here... which tire would ya recommend for 2009 KLR 650? Has to be DOT, but tread design for off-road. I'm lookin at the Dunlop D606, Continental TKC, and Michelin T63…

Have used several types of tires and soon going to dunlop 606. From what I've seen these are the most universal tires for dirt and street.Tom/Thumper
I've used two rear and one front K270. I like them a lot. Wear great, fine on dirt, OK on street. I get mine at American Tire out of Phoenix.
I reccomend skipping the "DOT" and getting normal knobbies.
That's what I do. They work fine on the road and GREAT ofroad.
You need all the offroad help you can get w/ that big KLR.
I ride the dunlop D606 F&R and really liked them over the stockers on my 08 KLR- I haven't yet tried other tires. Might try Kendas next if they are better on the dirt!
I forgot, I got handle bar risers from Dirtly off the net. They make riding standing up so much nicer.
My 07 KLR has Mefo tires and I have had great use out of them. I get them from Arrowhead In Moab and they get here in 2 to 3 days in the mail. I also have used Kenda 270's and they wear like iron also but don't hold the pavement as well as the MEFO.…

Still kickin' even with a broken wing! Waiting for my new HD GoPro video camera to get shipped so I can walk around the house with it attached to my helmet...until spring when I should be able to ride again.
