Those are really nice pictures. Your new camera and you seem well-matched. That looked like a fun ride. It would have been challenging for me, but looks like it was a "breeze," for you!

Nope. Wasn't me. I am back in Russia until May 7. I do have a red KLR650, but do most of my riding on a yellow F800GS beemer. It was a pretty bad winter for riding in NM.....lots of cold, snow and rain. When I was home I did not get out as much as I like. May should be good though. I will look forward to hearing from you again and maybe we can meet on a ride.

Hi, Camille. My wife and I moved to Placitas from Alaska in 2004. In 2006 I bought my KLR650 and was commuting to a job in ABQ. That is when I got hooked on the DS style of riding. It appeals to my adventurous side, for sure. In Oct. 2007 I took a job which has me commuting to Russia; I work six weeks on and four weeks off, more or less. I am in Russia now, returning on Oct. 29th. I hope we still have some of that great weather when I get home.

My wife started getting into riding with me over a year ago and really enjoys where it takes us. We do day trips all over the area, mostly north of ABQ. When I knew she was serious about it I decided to get a bike with more HP and comfort for riding 2-up. But I did not want to go all the way up to a big GS bike....the F800GS was made for what we want to do. It's perfect for two up riding and light enough for me to go anywhere I have the skills to ride.

We live in Ranchos de Placitas.....lets keep in touch.

Hi Camille, I finished my job a Riccobene's, just limping around now. I hope to take it easy for awhile and recover some. When the weather gets warmer I know I'll feel better. I'm glad to hear you are taking care of yourself, not riding when it is too cold. We'll have to do the Ponderosa ride when we think the weather will be good.

Hi Camille, let me know if you would like an escort to Ponderosa. I could also show you the Goblin Rocks. They are not far from Ponderosa.
