Now that I've pulled my head out of my @$$, let me restate that question: Any chance of moving it back a weekend or ahead two? (I'll still be in AZ on the 12th.)
Damn, I'd really like to do this one, but I have to be at Ft. Huachuca, AZ on that Sunday. Any chance of moving it ahead or back a weekend? If not, maybe next time...
Hey, WT! Glad to see your back on two wheels. I guess your shoulder mended up pretty well? I was checking out your Pike's Peak post. Man, I sure would like to go, but I just became a grandpa, and my daughter & grandson are living with us while his d…
I won't be able to make this one. I'll be on my way back from school in AZ. Here's a link to the one I was telling you about on the phone. It's the 25th-28th: http://www.texasadventure.net/AroundtheBend.htm
Well, I wish you the best, and I hope you have a speedy recovery. And I hope you get Griselda fixed while we're going into the coldest part of the winter. At least this happened now, and not at the beginning of spring:) That would really suck...

That really frickin' hurt. I didn't realize it at the time, but I did a little more damage (to me, not the bike) than just bruising my arm.
I slammed the bars with my chest & bruised up my ribs pretty good, & then somewhere along the line I bruised…
Jody, I am leaving from work at around noon tomorrow & should hit TorC by 5. What time do you expect to get to the hotel? Maybe we can grab a bite. If you want, give me a call, tomorrow evening, 915-588-2462. Same goes for anyone else who'll be in T…
Man, that really sucks. I understand, though. If my bike was totaled I might be able to get another KLR, but there's no way it would be anything like the bike I have now. I've put in about double the purchase price of the bike in work and accessories. Damn. Well, I wish you the best, and I hope you find yourself on a new steed soon. If you ever need anything, let me know. Take care.
Glad to hear you're back on the horse. I will be healed before the bike. I got the repair estimate today and it will definitely be "totalled" by the insurance company. Other financial issues will probably turn the insurance money in a different direction. I suspect I won't see a BMW 1200GS Adv in my stable for quite a while. Either way, I'll probably be without a bike until at least March...and then who knows what will be in the cards.
Hey, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. There are several dual sport types in the ELP/Las Cruces area. My telephone is 915 588 5054 and I live over by Franklin High on the West side.
We are doing another Monticello trip on Dec 5. My wife rides a Versys and has put lots of miles on it but for Monticello I will have her on my KLR and I will be on my GS1200. This will be her first ds ride. I suspect we may have a good group as I have posted over on AdvRider.
There is also a great dual sport route from El Paso to Cloudcroft with 90 plus miles of gravel. Right now Cloudcroft is COLD as it is 8900 MSL. Give me a call. Richard Newton
PS Have you made it to Kilborne Hole yet? It is a good dual sport route and easy to do in a few hours from Border Highway.
