The New Mexico Rider

This is my first time at posting a ride or pictures on this site. Thought that I would try it out by telling of a few rides done over the past 60 days. Nothing long and just a few pictures to see how it works. All of the following are day trips from Albuquerque.

I rode a solo out of Edgewood and took the dirt road to White Lakes and across to Leyba and down to Villanueva. I wanted to find the Leyba to Rowe Mesa road but I missed it. Circled north to I- 25 then down to the Rowe Mesa turn off and headed down the mesa. Played a little on the top before heading back to White Lakes and accross to highway 41. Shot up 41 to the Simmons Road cut off and came home through the Diamond Tail Ranch. I am sorry but the wife had the camera that day.

Took a friend the next week and did a trip to the East side of the Manzanos and did the 4th of July loop and then circled to Mountainaire and Abo. Finished the loop going to Belen and up 47 to Albuq.
My buddy going through the burn area.

Lunch Stop.

Riding the back roads.

Me checking out the Abo Ruins.

Nice ruins, not much traffic, and a motorcycle friendly place.

Mid July got out in the forest with friends. Did dirt roads and some water crossings.

Looking at some old sites on the mountain.

Playing on the road.

CEDRO RIDE

The wife had the camera while I was on this ride. Bummer cause we hit some mud that caused a biff on the bikes. Would of liked a picture of it. (Note to self-get wife her own camera and keep yours on the bike.) We rode out to Cedro and down to the Oak Flats picnic grounds. Was a little disappointed as the Forest Service had designated this a motorcycle trail. When you get to the end the gate is locked and fences and guard rails are up. We got through but thought that it was funny as they had the trail blocked so you couldn't get out, or get on. Stopped at the ranger station and advised them how they could improve the situtation. We will see if they fix it.

Enough ramblings, the post works. Hope to report on some loops out of Lordsburg at the end of August or first of September. Ride Safe.
