The Storm Rising, Badlands Against the Storm

Part One. The New Mexico Rider Group attempted a ride to the Rio Rancho Badlands. The group split in two groups, one was led by Joey and the other by Dion. I went with Dion and this video is from that ride. From the start, which is this video, all went well. Some snow, a little wet, not too cold, soft and mushy but nothing major.

Little did the group know what laid waiting for us on the other side of the hills. The giant was about to wake up and touch some serious ass. Enjoy it while you can.

Buggs, you are a tough cookie, for sticking it out and riding all the way home. Hope your leg heals up quickly. I would like to have you do a video for me soon. Let me know if you can do.

That's really fun to watch guys! Buggs can you get bike sound too?
Can anyone else get the fullscreen to load? My computer may be acting up.

Sorry to hear about the knee. I've got some bruises (elbow and knee) and a real sore place where my cell phone was in my pocket--note to all offroaders suggest that cells go in the luggage! The screen on mine looks like a spider cave--oh well time for a new one anyway. Buggs hope the knee is better soon. Chuck interested in a 2007 DR650--I'm going smaller.

Great Video---Looks like you guys had a fun filled ride.By the looks of things ,it was a good idea not to take my Vstrom. I,am still looking for a better bike to ride off road. I think this Spot Gps is a great thing. Hope you knee is ok. Looking forward to ridding with this groop.

It looks like there might be four parts, the next one will continue to show the progression of the snow and the first casualty. 3rd and 4th will show the heavy snow/ice and the carnage. My right knee is swollen and I will have to go to the ER for evaluation, damnit!

What were we thinking!!!!

Buggs waiting for installment 2 where I'm assuming the snow really gets bad. Actually I'm glad you were witht the other group. You wouldn't have enought video to record us coming out and second I wouldn't want my version of the "Laugh-In" tricycle on tape! There are memorable rides and their are MEMORABLE rides--like this one. Reminded me of the time my wife and I were on our Harleys going from Taos to Cimaron--unknown to us there was a blizzard at the top--she still reminds me of that one, made it but slipping and sliding all the way. Enjoyed the ride, thanks to Buggs and Slojoe!

Well, once again Buggs and Slo Joe lead us into another adventure full of weather, wrong turns, thrills, spills and potential hypothermia. When is the next one scheduled? LOL. Thanks to all who were around to help put the KLR back on its wheels and me on my feet.
